Landscaping

Well we finally got the final grading of the area around the pool done. YAY!  So now the fun part of putting down sod and plants. We put out one pallet of sod on Thursday and another pallet on Friday. 

Whew that was hard work in these hot temps. Thank goodness we had a pool to cool off after our work.  Saturday, we started shaping the planter beds by the patio steps.  We were able to put down the brick edging to define the shape  of the beds. Then it was time to put down the weed barrier cloth. 

We also shopped around for some plants to go in the beds. I think we have decided to go with Pink Muhly Grasses around the top edge of the beds. The center plants will be Little Lime Hydrangeas. Both of these plants grow well in our zone, are suited for full sun, and grow well in clay soil. They are also recomended poolside plants. 

Now we just need two or three more pallets of sod and to purchase the plants. Until then we will water the sod.

Our View Has Made A Big Change

So the pool and back yard project is almost finished. Let's look back and compare how are yard looked back on June 17 and

Amazing how much has changed in less than 2 months. 

 We love our new yard.

Outdoor Fireplace Finished

The outdoor fireplace is finished!  I almost wish it were fall. What? I said almost. Ha! 

It looks great!  

Now it's time to get to work on the yard!

One More Project.

The swimming pool is complete. We still need to have the final grading of the land around the pool deck and put down some sod. We also have added one addition to our outside entertainment area,an outdoor fireplace. This was something we wanted and it just worked out the bricklayer could start on our project this week. Actually he poured the foundation last week. He had the bricks delivered last Friday and started work on Monday. Due to a light rain and a shortage of bricks he wasn't able to finish  the fireplace. The additional bricks should be delivered on Thursday so hopefully we'll have this project finished this week.

We are enjoying the pool so much. I came home from work this afternoon and headed to the pool. What a great nap, floating in the pool with the spa waterfall lulling me to sleep.
